The body of Chandra Nobles was discovered early Sunday morning by a transient collecting cans in the rear parking lot of Cleo's adult entertainment club on South Orange Blossom Trail (see map) .

At this point, detectives say the circumstances surrounding the death appear to be suspicious.

Detectives said Nobles was likely murdered, but few details are being released. They are reviewing surveillance video to see if it could lead them to any clues.

But crime is nothing new at Cleo's.

In 2004, the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation spent five months undercover. It was part of an investigation into alleged drug dealing, lewd conduct and underage drinking.

In 2007, more than 100 calls to police from Cleo's were reported. That same year, two gunmen fired more than 20 shots outside the strip club, according to police. Several cars were riddled with bullet holes and three people were injured.

Three neighbors told WFTV Nobles was a prostitute who regularly walked OBT. Nobles has been arrested in the past for drug possession and prostitution, although some of the charges were later dropped, according to the Orange County Clerk of Courts website.

A person who answered the phone at Cleo's Sunday night hung up when WFTV asked about the incident.
