Take your new Toyota near Orlando out on the highway!
- Before you do anything, make sure that all of the distractions in your new Toyota near Orlando have been stowed. You should put away your cell phone (a lot of our new Toyota options have convenient Bluetooth technology to keep you hands free), make sure the kids are comfortable, and buckle up before you hit the road. Your mind should be completely focused on the task at hand – hitting the highway!
- Merging onto the highway in your new Toyota can be a little tricky, so make sure you pick up enough speed. By the time you reach the end of the on-ramp you want to be cruising at a speed that will easily allow you to join the traffic flow, and be sure to use your blinker as well to indicate your intentions to other drivers.
- When you merge, change lanes, or pass other drivers, be sure to use the turn signal in your new Toyota near Orlando! This will help keep your intentions clear and prevent accidents. Also, check your blind spot. You should always use your mirrors, but sometimes they leave a portion of the road unseen – be sure to physically turn and make sure the coast is clear.
- Do you have cruise control in your new Toyota? At Toyota of Clermont, this is a standard feature on a lot of our new models; however, you should learn HOW to use it before you try it out on the highway! You shouldn't use cruise control if you're in stop-and-go traffic or heavily congested conditions. The best time to put this technology to use is in free-flowing and steady traffic conditions, and you should also remain aware. Cruise control doesn't mean auto-pilot – keep an eye on other drivers around you!
- Time to take the off-ramp? Be sure you once again use the turn signals in your new Toyota to let other drivers know you're headed that way, and as soon as you start approaching the ramp, slow down. A lot of times you'll come across a stop light or stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, and you want to be traveling at a speed that allows for a safe transition.
