Extreme heat sticking around through the weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Floridians are experiencing some extreme heat, with temperatures reaching the upper 90s throughout most of the region.

“Get ready for more of the same this weekend. Extremely hot and muggy weather. Dangerous heat in the afternoon,” meteorologist Rusty McCranie said.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Temperatures are expected to reach 97 degrees.
  • There is a 20% chance of rain throughout Central Florida.
  • By Tuesday and Wednesday rain chances will be back up to 50% to 60%.
