Hospitals prepare for Hurricane Irma

Central Florida hospitals are taking precautions ahead of Hurricane Irma.

Ocala Health:

Ocala Health will close the Summerfield Emergency room Sunday at 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. Monday. The emergency room is located at 14193 South U.S. Highway 441 in Summerfield.

The emergency rooms at Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital will remain open for emergency patients.

Orlando Health:

All Orlando Health facilities go on lock down at 5 p.m. Sunday to allow patients who are being discharged to leave before the county wide curfew goes into effect. The lockdown means all entry and exit will not be open except in an emergency situation.

The lockdown applies to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, the Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Health Central Hospital, South Lake Hospital and South Seminole Hospital.

Osceola Regional Medical Center:

The Hunter's Creek Emergency room at Osceola Regional Medical Center at 12100 S. John Young Parkway in Orlando will close Sunday at 7 a.m. ahead of Hurricane Irma. The emergency room will reopen on Monday after the storm passes.

The main emergency room at Osceola Regional Medical Center at 700 W. Oak Street in Kissimmee will remain open.

Florida Hospital is taking steps to make sure patients are safe at all its locations as Hurricane Irma approaches Florida. Below is info from the hospital:
