A tropical system developing in the Atlantic is likely to form into Tropical Storm Josephine shortly.
Meteorologist Brian Shields said early indications show that the system will fall apart in about five days.

“While it could get stronger in the short term, the forecast shows it weakening over the weekend,” said Channel 9 meteorologist Rusty McCranie. “As of now, this looks to stay far from us.”
According to the 11 a.m. advisory, the system is moving west at 14 mph with 35 mph winds.
The system does not appear to be a threat to Florida, but Channel 9 meteorologists will continue to monitor the system in the coming days.
