ORLANDO, Fla. — As the many in the Gulf Coast deal with the impact of Hurricane Ida, Central Florida is seeing drier than normal conditions due to the massive storm.

Ida is passing about 500 miles to the west of Central Florida and pulling in drier air from the east into our area.

As a result, Central Florida will only see spotty rain chances.
Central Florida is also close enough to Ida to feel a slight east-to-southeast breeze.
The highest chance for any storms into the evening will be west in Lake, Marion, Sumter and Polk counties.
