Gov. Rick Scott held a news conference Friday and said that the eye of Hurricane Matthew is 100 miles from Jacksonville.
All toll suspensions are to "remain in effect 24-hours after the storm passes each county," Scott said.
Residents are urged to report gas price gouging.
Scott said that he asked the federal government for food, water, tarps, generators and other supplies.
"If our local communities need more resources, we will continue making requests to FEMA," Scott said.
He also urged residents not to touch downed power lines.
