FDOT repairs apparent asphalt crack on I-4 near SR 408

ORLANDO, Fla. — Drivers on their morning commute may have been surprised to encounter an apparent crack along I-4.

The crack happened in the eastbound center lane near State Road 408.

The issue caused delays, restricting traffic to only the right lane until about 11:20 a.m. before reopening.

I-4 Ultimate crews, said they just resurfaced the asphalt the night before.

Officials said “out of an abundance of caution for motorists, we implemented a double lane closure around 8:30 a.m. to remove and replace additional asphalt.
