Man bitten by 'toothy sea creature’ while surfing at Melbourne Beach, firefighters say

MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. — A man was bitten by a “toothy sea creature” while he was surfing at Melbourne Beach, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.

The incident happened Tuesday near 7400 A1A at South Melbourne Beach, firefighters said.

Firefighters said the man’s arm was bleeding significantly.

He was taken to a hospital.

It is not known if the sea creature was a shark.
