CENTRAL FLA. — Heavy rain chances remain in the forecast for Sunday, especially during the afternoon.
Plenty of moisture is in place around central Florida. This will allow sea breezes to take advantage of that moisture, creating pockets of heavy rain and thunderstorms similar to what we had on Saturday.
The biggest threat today will be heavy rain and some lightning.
We are still tracking a cold front that will drop into central Florida starting tomorrow.
This will look different from what we have been seeing during the weekend.
Rain can start as early as Monday morning for much of the area and could continue through Thursday with the front stalled over central Florida.
Thunderstorms during the week will be few and far between, but cannot be ruled out. The main threat will remain heavy rain.
Some locations could see upwards of three to five inches of rain between Monday and Thursday.
Temperatures will also drop quite a bit when the front stalls south of our area.
Your high temperature on Monday will be in the upper 80s once again, but that number will fall to the lower 80s by Tuesday.
