MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. — Three juveniles scared a homeowner and neighbors into thinking they attached some sort of explosive device to a bag of tortilla chips and detonated it outside the front door of a Merritt Island home Sunday morning, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.

The juveniles spread tortilla chips and made loud sounds at the home along Sarong Circle shortly after 11 a.m., deputies said.
