ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported 2,678 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest increase in cases since mid-June.
On Monday the state also reported an additional 87 coronavirus-related deaths, including seven in Central Florida. Three of the deaths were in Lake County, and two were in each of Polk and Marion counties.

Orange County reported an increase of 104 cases on Monday. The last time the county saw an increase of fewer cases than that was June 12, when only 95 new cases were reported.
Gov. Ron DeSantis tweeted Monday that the case number increase was the lowest the state has seen in months.
As of Monday, Florida has reported a total of 576,094 cases statewide and 9,674 deaths of both residents and nonresidents.
