Detectives believe three assailants carjacked Cummings’ Mercedes, shot him and left him in the parking lot.

Several nearby businesses have surveillance cameras, and Cummings’ children are hoping that images from those camera will help investigators catch the people responsible for their father’s death.

“To gun down a 78 year old man, it doesn’t make any sense,” his daughter said.

Investigators spent hours on scene searching for clues.
