Deputies said a relative left Jace Leslie in a car seat for several hours while at work.
The caregiver was expected to drop the baby off to a day care on Indian Hill Road, but the caregiver did not drop off the child Friday.
Investigators said when the caregiver arrived at the day care at about 3:45 p.m. to pick up the baby, Jace was found unresponsive in the car.
Paramedics determined that Jace was dead.
Detectives said they are waiting on the medical examiner’s report to determine the official cause of death.
Several neighbors described the home as a day care, but the Florida Department of Children and Families' map of registered child care providers doesn’t show a license for the address.
