ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — We are now less than three weeks from election day, and with the pandemic, more and more people across Florida are choosing to vote by mail.

In Central Florida, more than 350,000 vote-by-mail ballots have already been returned. In Orange County alone, around 100,000 more people have requested vote-by-mail ballots than in the 2016 presidential election.

9 things to know about registering to vote in Florida

Here’s what you need to know this year to make sure your ballot is counted:

  • Get it done early.
  • Drop boxes are available in some locations to return it directly to the Supervisor of Elections office.
  • Make sure it’s signed and dated.
  • It must be in the Supervisor’s Office on Election Day.
  • Starting next Monday, drop boxes will be at each of the 20 early voting sites around Orange County.
