Runaway emu rescued after being spotted in Orlando traffic, troopers say

ORLANDO, Fla. — It’s not something you see every day.

A runaway emu was spotted stopping traffic in Orlando.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers had to help guide the giant bird to safety.

Emu’s can’t fly, but they can run.

Trooper Sgt. Durrance worked with a nearby homeowner to move the emu into a safe, fenced-in area.

Wildlife officials were called to help relocate the emu.
