THE VILLAGES, Fla. — A father and daughter were arrested on numerous drug charges Tuesday after deputies said the woman was accused of selling meth and heroin out of a home in The Villages.
Sumter County deputies said they used a search warrant to search the home of Anthony Malara, 72, and Tara Malara, 46, on Glenwood Place in Lady Lake on Tuesday morning after a monthlong investigation.

Deputies said they had received numerous complaints of suspicious activity at the home.
During the search, deputies said they found numerous items of drug paraphernalia, including used hypodermic syringes found throughout the home, several digital scales and numerous baggies for packaging.
Inside the home deputies said they also found a small quantity of methamphetamine and over 10 grams of heroin.
Tara Malara is facing numerous charges including trafficking heroin; possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell; nine counts of possession of controlled substance; ownership, lease, rental, or possession for trafficking a controlled substance; possession of marijuana under 20 grams; and possession of drug equipment.
She remains in the Sumter County Jail with her bail set at $52,000.
Her father was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug equipment. According to jail records, he was released from custody on $3,000 bond.
