Walmart Fall Deals sale kicks off this Monday, Oct. 5

Walmart will launch its weeklong Fall Deals event starting at midnight on Monday, October 5

ORLANDO, Fla. — Walmart’s weeklong Fall Deals event begins at midnight Eastern time Monday, Oct. 5, and runs through Oct. 11, offering discounts on home items, electronics, toys, clothing, food and other seasonal purchases.

Unlike Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale, Walmart’s event is open to all shoppers and does not require a paid membership. Walmart+ members may receive early access to select deals; the membership costs $12.95 a month or $98 a year, plus taxes.

Walmart is advertising savings of up to 50% on home products, up to 40% on fashion and technology, and up to 30% on food and toys. The sale overlaps with Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days on Oct. 6-7, giving Central Florida shoppers a chance to compare prices before checking out.

Tips for Central Florida shoppers

Compare identical products at Walmart, Amazon, Target and Best Buy. Several major retailers are running overlapping October sales, so a “deal” at one store may cost less elsewhere.

Check pickup availability at nearby Central Florida Walmart stores. Store pickup can help shoppers avoid shipping delays and may make it easier to inspect or return a larger item.

Focus on items already on your holiday list, including toys, small appliances, TVs and household necessities. Buying early may spread out holiday spending rather than putting it all on a November or December budget.

Read the return policy before purchasing electronics, toys or gifts. Keep receipts or digital order confirmations in case an item needs to be returned after the holidays.

Be cautious with “limited-time” messaging. Check the regular price, compare model numbers and make sure a discounted product is not an older or lower-feature version of the item you intended to buy.

Consider home and storm-preparedness needs, but buy only products that fit your household. For example, compare generator power capacity, battery compatibility and safety requirements rather than selecting a product solely because it is discounted.
