GARY, Ind. — Two people were killed and four others were wounded in a shooting at an Indiana nightclub early Sunday, authorities said.
Police in Gary were called to Playo’s Nightclub at approximately 1:57 a.m. CDT, WLS-TV reported.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered an unresponsive 34-year-old man near the entrance to the club suffering from gunshot wounds, according to WFLD-TV. An unresponsive 26-year-old woman was found inside the club, the television station reported.
Both were taken to an area hospital, where they were both pronounced dead, WMAQ-TV reported.
Officers found four injured persons, including one in critical condition, according to WLS.
The other victims appear to have injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening, WFLD reported.
It is unclear what led to the shooting. The city’s Metro Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
