NEW ORLEANS — Two people have died, and four others were injured in a shooting early Monday morning in New Orleans.

A 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were shot and killed Monday around 12:30 a.m., New Orleans police said in a statement obtained by The Associated Press. It happened in a Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood located east of downtown New Orleans.

Three 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old were also injured, NOPD said, according to the AP. All four were taken to the hospital for treatment, but their conditions are unknown.

No arrests have been made yet, the AP said.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information has been released.
