2-year-old boy dies in shooting at Georgia apartment, police say

ALBANY, Ga. — A toddler has died after he was shot in the head inside a Georgia apartment, authorities said.

According to WFXL and WALB, the shooting occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Monday on Hilltop Drive in Albany. Albany police said the 2-year-old boy was in the apartment with three adults and at least two other children when a gun discharged, striking and killing the toddler, WALB reported.

Investigators are still trying to determine whether the boy shot himself or another person fired the weapon, the news outlets reported.

Police have not announced any arrests in connection with the case.
