According to Variety and CNN, the former “Game of Thrones” star’s comments about the life-threatening incidents, which occurred in 2011 and 2013, came during this week’s episode of BBC’s “Sunday Morning.”

“The amount of my brain that is no longer usable – it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately, and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions,” Clarke, 35, said on the program.

The actress, who is currently playing Nina in the London West End production of “The Seagull,” added that her brain scans showed “there’s quite a bit missing,” according to the news outlets.

“Strokes, basically, as soon as any part of your brain doesn’t get blood for a second, it’s gone,” she said in the interview.

In the years that followed, Clarke formed SameYou, a charitable organization that aims to help patients recover from strokes and brain injuries, Variety reported. She said she also learned to accept herself as she is, according to the entertainment outlet.

“I thought, ‘Well, this is who you are. This is the brain that you have,’” she told the BBC. “So there’s no point in continually wracking your brains about what might not be there.”
