It’s not something baseball fans are used to seeing — an umpire not missing a call in nine innings.
Despite the pressure of trying to make tough calls in the moment, Pat Hoberg called a perfect game without one mistake, according to Umpire Scorecards during World Series Game 2 Saturday, USA Today reported.
Hoberg has proven how well he calls a game earlier this year, making only one mistake in a game, missing the first pitch that time but calling each other throw accurately, CBS Sports reported.
His milestone did not go unnoticed on social media:
Saturday’s game was Hoberg’s first World Series assignment, CBS Sports reported. He had been a reserve umpire in Game 1.
