BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida man is behind bars facing a list of charges after deputies say he sped on a highway and then tried to escape by running across it.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that its deputies pulled Zachary Sibert over after he drove 110 mph on I-95.
A video shared by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office on social media shows Sibert getting out of the car after pulling over and running across I-95, despite traffic on the busy road. Deputies described the behavior as playing “Frogger” across the interstate.
Deputies said that while Sibert ran, he yelled “I’m sorry” to the deputy, “and while he was a courteous criminal, he was not very smart.” Deputies said Sibert was arrested after he allegedly approached a vehicle and told the driver he would pay for him to take him back to his car.
Deputies said they found Sibert hiding in the back seat of the vehicle as it approached the area.
Sibert was charged with driving without a license and resisting an officer. He posted bond and was released from the Brevard County Jail, according to online records.
