FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — Torrential rains from Tropical Storm Eta brought a surprise to one Florida man — a manatee grazing in his front yard.
Matt Hathaway shared video of the sea cow gnawing on the lawn after the combination of high tide, storm surge and heavy rain flooded roads and waterways.
“Tide so high we have a manatee munching on grass in our yard,” Hathaway wrote on Facebook.
Storms tend to force water wildlife into odd environments.

Earlier this week, a widely viewed video showed a monstrous alligator traipsing across a golf course in Naples, Florida. In September, a dolphin was rescued 9 miles inland in a Louisiana pond believed to have gotten there because of storm surge caused by Hurricane Laura.
