Oscar-nominated actress Minnie Driver is recovering after being in what she called a “really bad car accident.”
Driver shared the news of her crash on Instagram. She wore a neck brace, telling fans that she was “in shock” and “grateful to be alive” after the crash, CNN reported.
“I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben,” she said. “And we somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn’t walk out of it. We crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive.”
She said she and her friend Ben Homewood survived because they were in a Kia EV2, a subcompact electric SUV that had 360-degree airbags, Nine news and People magazine reported.
Known for roles in “Good Will Hunting” and “The Phantom of the Opera,” Driver has been appearing in “Emily in Paris” and had been filming season 6, which is the final season, in the City of Lights since June.
Deadline reported that filming has not been impacted much, as the crash happened when Driver was on a pre-planned break. Only one scene with Driver had to be rescheduled. She will return to the series once she recovers.
