VERO BEACH, Fla. — One person was hurt when a food truck exploded at a festival in south Florida.
The Vero Beach Police Department shared photos showing the aftermath of the explosion in a Facebook post.
In the post, police said that the truck was participating as a vendor in the seafood festival when the explosion happened.
The victim, a 53-year-old woman from Port St. Lucie, suffered severe burns to her arms and legs, police told Treasure Coast News.
“Prior to the explosion, some witnesses advised that there was a smell of propane prior to her going inside the food truck,” Master Officer Darrell Rivers told the outlet.
The Vero Beach Police Department said that it is working with Indian River County Fire Rescue and the State Fire Marshall’s Office to determine what caused the explosion.
The seafood festival remained open.
