Teen reality star “Honey Boo Boo” was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a chase with deputies in Monroe County, Georgia.
Honey Boo Boo, whose real name is Alana Thompson, starred in the show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which documented her work as a child beauty pageant contestant for four seasons, ending in 2014, WSB-TV reported.
Thompson, 17, was a passenger in a Dodge Charger that was being driven by her boyfriend, identified as Dralin Carswell, 21, when deputies began to pursue the vehicle, WSB-TV reported.
Monroe County Lt. John Thompson told the station that deputies ran the Charger’s plate at a gas station and found that Carswell was wanted on a misdemeanor traffic charge. When a deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop, Carswell allegedly sped away, WSB-TV reported.
The chase continued for approximately 4 miles on Highway 42 until a deputy used a PIT maneuver to spin the Charger to a stop. Carswell was arrested and charged with DUI and drug possession, WSB-TV reported.
Thompson was not arrested or charged. Investigators told WSB-TV she is only considered a witness in the case.
