Employees at Six Flags Magic Mountain first spotted the bear around 2 a.m., May 5, and called California Fish and Wildlife, KTLA reported.

“For a bear to end up at Six Flags, that was a new one for me,” Jessica West, a specialist with California fish and Wildlife, told KTLA.

In a news release, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said when they arrived, they found the bear had gotten stuck between two Conex trailers. Firefighters worked with other agencies, including California Fish and Game and the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, to free the animal.

The process took several hours, as the bear was sedated before one of the trailers was moved to give rescuers better access to the area, firefighters said in a news release.

A photo shows the bear “packaged for transport,” before it could be safely relocated by wildlife officials.

Wildlife officials said the bear may have gotten stuck after getting spooked by humans at the amusement park.

“There was concern, given that the park was open to the public, so we did respond,” West told KTLA.
