KYIV, Ukraine — A Russian attack on an aircraft factory in Kyiv, Ukraine, has left at least two people dead and seven others hurt, Ukrainian officials said Monday.
According to The Associated Press, the incident occurred Monday at the Antonov factory, the country’s largest aircraft manufacturing plant. Ukraine’s parliament tweeted that Russian shelling caused a large fire, killing two people and injuring seven.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials said Russian artillery fire struck an apartment building in northern Kyiv, killing one person and injuring three others, the AP reported. Photos and videos from the scene showed rescue crews pulling survivors from the nine-story building as firefighters worked to put out the blaze, according to the news agency.
The attacks came the same day that Ukrainian and Russian officials began a fourth round of high-level negotiations via video conference, the AP reported. Mykhailo Podolyak, an aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, tweeted that “communication is being held, yet it’s hard.”
