MIAMI — An NFL player was arrested at a Miami club early Saturday, after security guards said he followed a woman into the bathroom and refused to leave.
Oli Udoh, an offensive lineman with the Minnesota Vikings, was arrested and charged with misdemeanors for resisting an officer without violence and disorderly conduct, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported.
In an arrest report obtained by KTSP, police said that Udoh had been standing with a female in line for the bathroom when he tried to enter the restroom at the club. A security guard who witnessed what happened told police he gave the athlete “multiple chances” to leave the bathroom, but Udoh refused.
Two off-duty police officers who had been responding to an unrelated incident outside the club said that they saw E11EVEN’s doors swing open and multiple security guards trying to restrain an “aggressive” Udoh, WPLG reported.
The officers identified themselves, but said that Udoh continued to resist their efforts to arrest him and put him in the patrol cruiser, KTSP reported.
Udoh was drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round of the 2019 draft, the Star Tribune reported.
In a statement to the Pioneer Press, the Minnesota Vikings said, “We are aware of last night’s arrest of Oli Udoh and are gathering additional information at this time.”
The Vikings are on a bye this week after beating the Dolphins in Miami on Oct. 16.
