WATCH: Prince Harry, Oprah release trailer for mental health series; Duchess Meghan makes cameo

Britain’s Prince Harry and media mogul Oprah Winfrey have released a new trailer for their mental health documentary series, which debuts later this week.

According to People magazine and USA Today, Harry’s wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and their 2-year-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, are among the famous faces shown in the video promoting “The Me You Can’t See,” slated to hit Apple TV+ on Friday.

“In ‘The Me You Can’t See,’ Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry guide honest discussions about mental health and emotional well-being while opening up about their mental health journeys and struggles,” Apple TV+ announced in a news release last week. “Featuring high-profile guests, alongside a wide range of people from across the globe living with the challenges of mental health issues and addressing their emotional well-being, the series transcends culture, age, gender and socioeconomic status to destigmatize a highly misunderstood subject and give hope to viewers who learn that they are not alone. The producers partnered with 14 accredited and respected experts and organizations from around the world to help shed light on different pathways to treatment.”

Other participants include singer Lady Gaga, actress Glenn Close, and NBA stars DeMar DeRozan and Langston Galloway, according to the release and trailer.

“We are born into different lives, brought up in different environments, and as a result are exposed to different experiences. But our shared experience is that we are all human,” Harry, also known as the Duke of Sussex, said in a statement. “The majority of us carry some form of unresolved trauma, loss or grief, which feels – and is – very personal. Yet the last year has shown us that we are all in this together, and my hope is that this series will show there is power in vulnerability, connection in empathy and strength in honesty.”

The news comes two months after the former Meghan Markle, 39, and Harry, 36, opened up about the difficulties of royal life in a televised interview with Winfrey. In the two-hour special, the pair discussed their decision to step back as senior members of the royal family and move to California with Archie last year. They also spoke about racism, feeling “trapped,” the British tabloids and the mental health challenges – including suicidal thoughts – that Meghan faced as a result.

Following the interview, Buckingham Palace officials released a statement on Queen Elizabeth II’s behalf, saying the royal family was “saddened” by the revelations.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” the statement read. “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”

The statement added: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
