ORLANDO, Fla. — Scattered storms rolled through Central Florida as families in Central Florida celebrated Mother’s Day.
High temperatures were at or near 90 degrees for most of Central Florida before afternoon storms started rolling in around 2:30 p.m.
Pockets of heavier rain and thunderstorms moved throughout Polk, Lake, Volusia and Flagler counties, producing some isolated downpours and gusty winds.

Some areas had more than an inch of rain with winds over 40 mph.
Most of the showers will move off towards the beaches by the early evening hours.
Skies will stay drier overnight before a storm front brings scattered showers into Florida on Monday afternoon.

There will be a slight chance for an isolated shower west and northwest of Orlando in the morning hours Monday.
Storm chances will stay around 30 to 20 percent around Central Florida over the next week.
Drier weather should return for the second half of the week.
