Officials: Two men die from injures in drive-by shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said two men have died from their injuries after a drive-by shooting Saturday evening.

Investigators identified the two men who were shot as 27-year-old Jesus Marquez-De Leon, and 39-year-old Jose Oquendo.

The shooting happened on Semoran Boulevard near Stonewall Jackson Road in Orlando.

Investigators said the victims were traveling in a gold Nissan sedan when a black SUV pulled up and someone inside opened fire on the victims' vehicle.

The driver of the Nissan attempted a U-turn after the shooting, but lost control and crashed into a wall, police said.

The victims, the driver and a passenger in the Nissan, were rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Amanda Hallam was nearby at the time and heard the gunshots.

"The first shot, it sounded like someone blew out their tires, but when I heard the other one I knew it was a gunshot," Hallam told WFTV.

Investigators said the black SUV continued northbound on Semoran Boulevard.

Police hope surveillance video from a nearby IHOP restaurant and a gas station will help catch the suspects.

Officials shut down Semoran Boulevard while police investigated, but the road has since reopened.
