Police raid several homes in Leesburg drug bust

LEESBURG, Fla. — A number of houses in a Leesburg neighborhood were raided Thursday morning after complaints of drug use and sales, Leesburg Police said.
 
Police said several anonymous complaints about a high amount of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the small neighborhood, along with criminal activity, including home invasions, led to the raids.
 
Police said their department's SWAT members, along with Lake County Sheriff's Office SWAT members, served several search warrants.
 
According to police, officer recovered two handguns, ammunition and marijuana packaged for distribution.
 
Police were still searching homes around noon.
 
They did not know how many people would be arrested as a result of the operation.
