Jones, 79, who has owned the NFL franchise since 1989, was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons after suffering minor injuries in the accident, WFAA-TV reported. It is unclear whether Jones was driving the vehicle or was a passenger.

Cowboys executive Stephen Jones told The Dallas Morning News that his father was resting comfortably at home.

“He is all good,” Stephen Jones told the newspaper.

While Dallas police officials do not release the names of people involved in minor accidents, an official said the crash that reportedly involved Jerry Jones occurred at about 8 p.m. CDT. Police said a vehicle failed to yield and turned in front of another vehicle, causing the collision, the Morning News reported.

A Dallas police spokesperson did not confirm whether Jerry Jones was involved in the incident, citing department practice.

Under Jerry Jones’ ownership, the Cowboys have won three Super Bowls and 12 NFC East division titles, including the 2021 season, according to CBS Sports.
