COSTA MESA, Calif. — Billie Joe Armstrong is walking his own boulevard of broken dreams.
The Green Day frontman reached out to fans via social media on Saturday to help him locate his 1962 Chevrolet Nova, which police believe was stolen over the weekend in Costa Mesa, California.
“This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the [Green Day] family for over 30 years,” Armstrong wrote in his post, which had been shared by more than 1,600 Twitter users as of Monday afternoon.

Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Jerry Souza confirmed to The Orange County Register that the pearl Nova with brown and cheetah-print interior was reported stolen at around 9 a.m. Saturday and investigators believe it was taken sometime after Friday afternoon.
