MINNEAPOLIS — A Minnesota man tried to rob a pawnshop with a sword he had purchased moments earlier from the store, investigators said.
Police said after Hunter Gransee-Bowman, 19, of Minneapolis, bought a sword at the Pawn America shop around 4 p.m., he unsheathed it, lifted the sword into the air and demanded money from the cashier, WCCO reported.
The cashier replied: "I don't think so," and called 911.
Gransee-Bowman left the store with his sword but no cash. He was taken into custody shortly later and reportedly told investigators he thought his actions would be funny.
Gransee-Bowman was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated robbery, WCCO reported.
