Guest Speaker

Featured This Event:

HP Newquist, Executive Director, The Relayer Group presents:

Are You Afraid Of Artificial Intelligence? More Importantly, Should You Be?

Many scientists think Artificial Intelligence could be the most terrifying technology ever developed, capable of replacing humans within a few decades.

As this presentation makes clear, the reality of what AI can actually do is not quite as simple as "bad AI vs. good AI." There are plenty of things that have gone wrong with AI—and will certainly go wrong in the future—and there will be many incredible things brought about by AI. Like all technologies, sometimes the scariest part is who controls it.

Speaker Talks:

Ginger Leigh (Synthestruct), Interactive + Audiovisual Creator presents:

Multi-Sensory: Exploring Synesthesia and Sensory Cross-Talk*

*A ticket is required and will be distributed at the presentation room 15 minutes prior to each talk.

Explore your senses in this fun and interactive presentation that examines human perception and cross-sensory experiences.

Equipped with crayons and other creative tools, you'll be challenged to explore your own unique sensorium through stimulating flavors and sounds.

Synthestruct will introduce synesthesia, ideasthesia, and the famous Kiki/Bouba psychology experiment, and share how these relate to her own work visualizing sound through audio-reactive experiences, installations, and live performance.
