ORLANDO, Fla. — There is a long list of Florida-based nonprofits working to support people and families impacted by breast cancer, not just during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but all year long.

Channel 9 compiled a list of local organizations that are dedicated to supporting the cause. Read more about each of them below:

Compassionate Hands & Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach

Compassionate Hands and Hearts, founded by Channel 9 anchor Vanessa Echols, plays a vital role in helping patients’ journey to recovery, whether by lending a helping hand with household chores, arranging transportation assistance, providing financial assistance or simply being there to listen.

Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida

The mission of the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida is to ease the financial worries of Central Florida breast cancer patients and their families.

Florida Breast Cancer Foundation

Florida Breast Cancer Foundation’s core purpose is to improve the lives of those in Florida with breast cancer and give hope where there is none.

East Central Florida Cancer Control Collaborative

ECFCCC works to improve access to cancer care resources and to fight the devastating effects of cancer in East Central Florida. The group aims to increase awareness about cancer prevention and treatment through education, research, and advocacy.

Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation

The mission of Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation is to provide comprehensive services to the underserved through education, mammograms, and patient navigation on the journey from diagnosis to survivorship.

Sisters Network — Orlando chapter

Sisters Network Inc. is committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community.

The nonprofit is dedicated to helping people who are dealing with myositis, breast cancer diseases and mental health (emotional abuse victims) on a day-to-day basis.

The Gift of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support to low-income women with breast cancer.
