2 men killed, another injured after car crashes into tree along I-95, troopers say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Two men were killed and another was injured after their car crashed into a tree along Interstate 95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, troopers said a Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on I-95 near mile marker 187 at a high speed.

For an unknown reason, the Charger left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder, troopers said.

The front of the car then struck a tree.

Both passengers in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old driver was taken to a hospital, where he is in serious condition.

One passenger has not been identified.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
