2 spring breakers steal Jet Ski in Daytona Beach, officials say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Two spring breakers are facing a grand theft charge after authorities said they stole one of Beach Patrol's Jet Skis in Daytona Beach.

Volusia County Beach Safety officers said a Jet Ski attendant was having mechanical issues and left the Jet Ski near the shore.

That’s when two people, who were on the beach celebrating spring break, hopped on the Jet Ski and rode it around the Main Street Pier, officers said.

The alleged thieves then beached the Jet Ski and officers caught up with them on land.

They will be charged with grand theft of a vessel.
