2 teens hurt in drive-by shooting near Apopka

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two teens are recovering after being shot near Apopka Sunday night.

Deputies responded to West Ella J. Gilmore Street near South Hawthorne Avenue around 9:15 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

At the scene, investigators determined the teens were hurt as a result of a drive-by shooting incident.

An ambulance rushed them to a hospital; both are expected to recover.

Deputies did not release names or ages of the teen victims, nor did they provide a possible motive for the shooting.

Investigators told Channel 9 that no details were available about possible suspects in the case.
