UPDATE:
MARION COUNTY, Fla. — According to the FWC, an alligator trapper has removed a 9′8″ alligator from the Silver River on Sunday afternoon.
Marion County Parks & Recreation announced that the Silver River has reopened after closing temporarily for the FWC and Marion County Sheriff’s Office to complete their investigations.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating an alligator bite incident in Marion County on Saturday.
According to the FWC, an adult female was swimming in the Silver River when she was bitten on the arm by an alligator.
Good Samaritans recovered the victim from the water and brought her to shore.
The victim was later transported to a local hospital for treatment, as her condition is unknown at this time.
FWC officers, along with a contracted Nuisance Alligator Trapper, are on scene to locate the alligator.
