ORLANDO, Fla. — An autopsy was completed Wednesday on the woman whose body was found dismembered in Lake Underhill, but Orlando police will not release any details.
Police continued a search for clues in the discovery of the woman’s body in the shallow water.
The parts of woman’s body were found at about 11 a.m. Monday along the shoreline near Palmer Street.
Police cordoned off a stretch of the lake from the boat ramp to the west edge of the lake as they continued their investigation.
The victim was described as an African-American woman her early 30s, measuring at 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing more than 200 pounds, police said.
“Who was in her peer group her friends? Her relationships, her intimate relationships, if she had any conflicts with people, and the like,” said official Mark Winton.
The victim was wearing a green tank top when she was found, police said.
Police have determined the woman's death was a homicide.
Authorities said they believe the victim was placed in the water sometime between the evening of Aug. 21, and the morning of Aug. 22.
Anyone who could help identify the victim or provide any information regarding suspicious activity in the area are asked to contact the Orlando Police Department.
