ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — It’s been more than two months since a gunman walked into an Orange County business on a Monday morning and killed five of his former coworkers.

Autopsy results show the gunman, John Neumann Jr., was drunk when he opened fire inside Fiamma Inc. on Forsyth Road.

The business manufactures awnings for RVs.

Neumann had been fired from the company in April.

Fiamma officials said they imposed tighter security after Neumann was fired.

The autopsy report also said Neumann was wearing earplugs, armed with knife and died from a self-inflicted shot to the head.

Todd Bluewater owns a business in the same building as Fiamma and knew the five victims, Robert Snyder, 69, Kevin Lawson, 46, Brenda Montanez-Crespo, 44, Kevin Clark, 53, and Jeff Roberts, 57.

He said they often chatted in the parking lot.

“I just walked in there for the first time two days ago and it was, I guess, you could saw a little bit traumatic to not see the same people,” Bluewater said.

He said some employees have returned to their jobs, but others are new hires.

Forsyth shooting: Motive unclear in workplace shooting

“I have talked to a couple of the people and it’s very, very difficult on them to even be inside the building,” said Bluewater.

A spokesperson for the company said Fiamma remains closed, but workers are taking care of business issues related to the significant interruption from the shooting.

Bluewater isn’t sure if Fiamma will stay in the building, but he hopes the legacy of the people who made it great will live on.

Neumann was a veteran who was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1999.

He had a criminal history that included marijuana possession, driving under the influence and battery charges.
