Azalea Park home damaged by fire in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An alert neighbor sprung into action after fire broke out at an Orange County home early Monday.

Firefighters responded to the Azalea Park neighborhood around 4 a.m. after getting a 911 call from a man who said he saw flames coming from his neighbor’s house along Lynbrook Drive.

or Caribbean this weekPeter Sabatini said he had just stepped out of the shower when he noticed fire shooting from the side of the home near a window air conditioning unit.

Before firefighters arrived, Sabatini told Eyewitness News he grabbed a fire extinguisher and then a garden hose in an effort to knock down the flames.

The owners weren’t home when the fire broke out.

On scene, WFTV learned that several pet birds inside the home were uninjured but one might have escaped its cage.

Orange County Fire Rescue crews were able to fully put out the fire and officials will investigate the cause.
