DELAND, Fla. — Deputies are investigating after a boater found a body in Lake Beresford near DeLand Tuesday evening.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said the body was discovered around 7:51 p.m. in the water along the Hontoon Road side of the lake.
Investigators said the body appeared to have been in the water for an extended period and could not immediately be identified.
Authorities have not released information about the person’s identity or a possible cause of death.
The sheriff’s office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
