Brevard County man faces child porn charges, deputies say

MELBOURNE, Fla. — A Brevard County man has been arrested and faces charges of producing child porn, investigators announced Tuesday.

David Hardman’s home in Melbourne was raided in August by federal investigators. He’s also accused of pulling a gun on FBI agents, investigators said.

9 Investigates first reported about Hardman in 2006 when people in the community said they were outraged over the online pictures he took of scantily clad preteen models. At the time, investigators said there wasn’t anything they could do to stop him.

“This is a long story, a 10-year story. All kinds of people in the community were on top of him,” said Kevin Gillick with the group Protect our Children.

The group publishes alerts about suspected pedophiles. Gillick told Channel 9’s Angela Jacobs that Hardman once offered him money to remove their posts about him.

Hardman is scheduled to go to trial next year.
