Brevard County mother accused of leaving kids inside car while visiting friend at bar

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. — A mother in Brevard County is accused of leaving her kids in a car while she went to a bar, according to police.

West Melbourne police said an officer spotted Jami Gunn’s car parked behind a bar on Menton Road on Sunday.

Officers said the car was unlocked, and running, and her 8-month-old and 2-year-old kids were inside.

According to a police report, Gunn was inside of the bar visiting a friend for at least 20 minutes.

Police said when Gunn returned to the car and was questioned by officers, she was more concerned with not going to jail than the wellbeing of her children.
